The ENGINE Internship, a local, cross-border practical program jointly implemented by Kanazawa University, Shinshu University, and Toyama University, has won the Regional Revitalization Award at the 8th Student-Choice Career Design Program Award 2025.
This program was developed as part of the 'ENGINE' program for creating human resources to redefine and innovate local key industries, starting from 2020, and has been implemented in collaboration with three universities. A mixed team from the three universities works for about four months on real challenges faced by companies across three regions, as a practical educational program focused on solving regional and social issues.
This award was conducted with the support of the three ministries: the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, along with The Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Inc. and Mynavi Corporation. From over 1,000 organizations and 1,205 programs nationwide, the Grand Prize, Excellence Award, and Regional Revitalization Award have been selected. This program has been highly evaluated for creating new learning spaces through inter-university collaboration and for fostering thinking skills, creativity, and executive skills that are applicable in the real world, which has led to this award.
