In the first quarter, Kanazawa University offers a special lecture by President Takashi Wada as part of the general education course "University and Social Life" (※) for all first-year students of the bachelor's program.
On April 14, President Wada gave a special lecture titled "Let's contribute to society by 'Future-oriented Intelligence' - 3 tips to learn from Kanazawa University" to about 300 first-year students from College of Science and Engineering, School of Mathematics and Physics, School of Chemistry, School of Geosciences and Civil Engineering, and School of Biological Science and Technology in the first period and to about 170 first-year students from College of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation, School of Entrepreneurial and Innovation Studies, School of Tourism Sciences and Design, and School of Smart Technology and Innovation in the third period.
During the lecture, President Wada spoke about Kanazawa University 's response to Noto Peninsula earthquake 2024, the history of Kanazawa University since its predecessor, and three hints for studying at Kanazawa University, including his own experiences. He also said that he hopes that through studying at Kanazawa University, students will grow into "Kanazawa University brand talent" who will be core leaders both at home and abroad.
※ "University and Social Life" is a course aimed at helping new students get used to university life, acquire the lifestyle and self-management skills required for university students, and lead a fulfilling university life.
