On June 4, Kanazawa University held a title ceremony to award the title of “Kanazawa University-certified Venture” for FMK Solutions, which is challenging to solve social issues in both rural and urban areas by utilizing technology and data originating from Kanazawa University. The "Kanazawa University-certified Venture" system is an attempt to certify and support companies that have received patents and other licenses from the viewpoint of social implementation of the research results of Kanazawa University.
FMK Solutions is a start-up company that plans, proposes, and implements solutions to social issues, including infrastructure maintenance, based on its core technologies, such as crack detection of wall tiles by image analysis, which won the 5th Infrastructure Maintenance Award, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award." This company was certified as a "Kanazawa University-certified Venture" on May 12.
At the ceremony, President Takashi Wada handed the title and a commemorative plaque to the members: CEO Yosuke Kon (Associate Professor, Frontier Institute of Tourism Sciences, Kanazawa University), Founder Director CRO Makoto Fujiu (Professor, Faculty of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation, Institute of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation, Kanazawa University), and Director CTO Yuma Morisaki (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation, Institute of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation, Kanazawa University). Afterwards, members of the company gave an overview of the demonstration research that has been conducted on university campuses and in disaster-stricken areas in Noto, explained the strengths of the technology, and discussed future business development and aspirations.
