On March 14 and 15, Kanazawa University recommended and sent two teams from Omiya International Secondary School in Saitama City, which won the Grand Prize and the Excellence Award at Kanazawa University Contest 7th Math A-lympiad in Japan, to the "Math A-lympiad", a mathematics contest held in the Netherlands. The results of the judging were announced recently, and one of the two teams won third place.
This mathematics contest, organized by the Freudenthal institute of Utrecht University in the Netherlands, challenges global problems that may occur in the real world using mathematical thinking. This year, 11 representative teams from the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Croatia, and other countries were selected through preliminary competitions.
